Type Locality Vicinity of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Synonym(s) Loricaria vetula
Etymology (Greek)Para=Near + (Latin)lorica, loricare=cuirass of corslet of leather(a suit of armour made of leather). This specific epithet literally means little old woman(vetula=little old woman).
