Scientific Name Pethia tiantian  (Kullander & Fang, 2005)
Common Name Burmese Bumblebee Barb
Type Locality Nan Hto Chaung, in Putao, about 1.6 kilometers from 46th regiment, 27°19'44"N, 97°22'36"E, Ayeyarwaddy River drainage, Kachin State, Myanmar.
Synonym(s) Puntius tiantian
Etymology Pethia is the generic vernacular name for small cyprinids in Sinhala.
