Common Name
Type Locality Orientale Province, Democratic Republic of Congo: Congo River at Yangambi, 0.76°N, 24.24°E.
Etymology The name boboto is a word in Lingala, the language spoken at the type locality of Petrocephalus boboto, meaning “peace,” alluding to the right of all the people of the D.R. Congo to live in peace and safety.
