Common Name
Type Locality Río Cuao at Raudal Guacamaya, 8.1 miles upstream from Raudal El Danto, 5°07.71'N, 67°31.53'W, Estado Amazonas, Venezuela.
Etymology The specific name is for the Rio Cuao [Venezuela], a clearwater tributary of the Rio Orinoco, and the region of first discovery of the species.
