Common Name
Type Locality	Fortaleza dos Valos, creek tributary to Ro Ingaí about 300 meters southwest of Fazenda Colorados, 28°54'29''S, 53°17'08''W, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
Pronunciation	rhine lor ee kar ee ah.
Etymology	Greek, rhinos = nose + Latin, lorica, loricare = cuirass of corslet of leather. Specific epithet is from the latin, baliolus, meaning chestnut or reddish brown, after its colour pattern.

Size	239mm or 9.4" SL. Find near, nearer or same sized spp.
Identification	Diagnosed from all congeners by its unique color pattern composed of one dark, wide band covering most of the distal one-half of all fins.
Habitat Information
Distribution	South America: drainages of Rio Jacuí, Rio Taquari and lower portions of tributaries to the Laguna dos Patos.
