Type Locality A tributary of Bonito River, on the road between Dutra Highway (BR-116) and Fazenda da Serra Hotel, Paraíba do Sul basin, Itatiaia, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 22°27'43"S, 44°32'02"W.
Pronunciation rhine lor ee kar ee ah.
Etymology Greek, rhinos = nose + Latin, lorica, loricare = cuirass of corslet of leather.
