Scientific Name Scleronema operculatum  Eigenmann, 1917
Common Name
Type Locality Cacequy, Brazil [= Cacequi, rio Cacequi, rio Ibicuí basin, Rio Grande do Sul, about 29°53'58"S, 54°50'24"W].
Etymology Scleronema: Greek, skleros = hard + Greek, nema = filament (or thread) referring to the hard base of the maxillary barbel.
