Scientific Name Serpenticobitis octozona  Roberts, 1997
Common Name
Type Locality Xe Nam Noi on eastern slope of Bolaven Plateau, about 30 kilometers from Ban Nam Tang, Attapeu Province, Laos, elevation 130 meters.
Etymology Serpenticobitis: Latin, serpens = serpent + cobitis Latin gobius = gudgeon, (See further under Cobitis). octozona: Specific epithet from the Latin octo which means eight and zona which means belt or girdle.
