| Feeding | Stomach contents of wild-caught specimens included annelid worms, terrestrial insects (beetles) and immature forms of insects (Coleoptera, Trichoptera, Ephemeroptera and Plecoptera). The most frequent foods were terrestrial insects and immature Plecoptera. User data. |
| Furniture | In nature, more specimens have been captured along slopes where riparian vegetation is abundant. Fewer specimens have been captured along piedmont areas with disturbed or reduced vegetation, suggesting this species prefers to inhabit vegetated areas of water. |
| Breeding | Not bred in captivity. Wild specimens with developed gonads have been captured throughout much of the year (Feb-July); no sexually active fish were caught in October. Reproductively active females carry an average of 319 oocytes in their ovaries. |
