Type Locality Rondônia: rio Madeira, beach immediately downstream of Cachoeira Caldeirão do Inferno [now just below Usina Hidrelétrica de Jirau], 9°15’30'S, 64°38’28'W, Brazil.
Synonym(s) Nemadoras cristinae
Etymology Tenellus comes from the Latin tener, meaning delicate, in reference to the delicate appearance of those dorads. cristinae after the main author's wife, Cristina Sabaj Perez. .
