| Identification | This genus differs from all other amphiliiids in having pedicellate jaw teeth with a fan-shaped distal end typically armed with two to six tiny flattened triangular cusps.Triangular adipose fin, slender caudal peduncle , caudal fin deeply forked with the lower lobe slightly larger than upper. 4 or 5 broad, blackish, transverse bands on the olive-colored body, the last of them on the caudal peduncle(Boulenger 1902). |
