Scientific Name Trichomycterus candidus  (Miranda Ribeiro, 1949)
Common Name
Type Locality Rio Espirito Santo, tributary of the Rio Claro, east of Sapucaí, Minas Gerais State, Brazil. MNRJ 5209. Paratypes: (several) MNRJ 5033-34 (2), 5247 (1).
Pronunciation trick oh mick terr uss.
Etymology Trichomycterus: From the Greek trichos, meaning hair and mykter, meaning nose; in reference to the barbels.
