Scientific Name Trichomycterus mondolfi  (Schultz, 1945)
Common Name Bagre De Chacaito (Argentinian)
Type Locality Quebrado Chacaito near Caracas, Estado de Mirando, Río Tuy system, Venezuela.
Synonym(s) Pygidium mondolfi
Pronunciation trick oh mick terr uss. - mon doll fye
Etymology Trichomycterus: From the Greek trichos, meaning hair and mykter, meaning nose; in reference to the barbels.

Size 61mm or 2.4" SL. Find near, nearer or same sized spp.
Identification Viewed from the side, there are two broken bands running the length of the body.
General Remarks This catfish is only known from a handful of streams around Caracas. Pollution and development are destroying the last few natural habitats of this fish. It will likely be extinct by 2020 or sooner.
