Common Name
Type Locality Río Cuao at Raudal Guacamaya, 8.1 miles upstream from Raudal El Danto, 5°07.71'N, 67°31.63'W, Estado Amazonas, Venezuela.
Etymology The specific name is taken from the name of the rapids on the middle Rio Cuao [Venezuela] where the first specimens were encountered.
