Scientific Name Xiphophorus clemenciae  Álvarez, 1959
Common Name Yellow Swordtail
Type Locality Cascada Stream, tributary of Río Sarabia, close to junction with Río Coatzacoalcos, 24 kilometers east of Palomares, Oaxaca, Mexico.
Etymology Xiphophorus: Greek, xiphos = sword + Greek, pherein = to carry
